Caractérisation des stratégies instrumentales de gestion d'environnements dynamiques

Ce travail concerne l'analyse ergonomique de l'activité de régulation du métro. Il repose sur les apports théoriques de la gestion d'environnements dynamiques, l'approche instrumentale et la conceptualisation pragmatique. Deux métiers de régulation sont observés pour comprendre les stratégies, les instruments et la structuration de l'activité des opérateurs en situation perturbée. Nous avons mis en évidence des stratégies visant au maintien de la régularité et la ponctualité du trafic ; un système d'instruments et un concept pragmatique concernant la ponctualité et la régularité ; des indicateurs de performance ; des organisations invariantes de l'activité sous-tendues par des schèmes et instrumentées pour la recherche de la cause de la perturbation et la gestion du trafic résiduel. Ce travail trouve son application dans la conception d'un système d'aide à la régulation.

This research aimed to describe cognitive strategies of the operators in charge of the management of the incidents occurring on a subway line. We analyzed with an ergonomic approach the activity of two types of regulators. The results showed strategies of information gathering and action ; the way regulators take into account regularity and punctuality, The regulators' multi-instrumented schemes of action ; the pragmatic concept of "fluidity" elaborated by regulators to evaluate the state of regularity, performance indicators of the operators' strategies ; the regulators' schemes of action to identify and to suppress causes of an incident and to deal with the remaining traffic. The results of this research allow us to propose several recommendations for the organization of subway regulation and for the design of a Traffic Regulation Assistance System for operators in charge of traffic regulation.
